EVEN WHEN HIDDEN, SHE’S WHOLE
by Emily LaDouceur
—
The moon has never stood me up.
Never said, “I’ll be there” and wasn’t.
She doesn’t make promises.
She just keeps showing up.
She arrives each night in whatever shape she’s in:
slivered, full, swollen, or shy,
and never once has she asked me to earn her glow.
She waxes and wanes,
but she never disappears without purpose.
Even hidden, she is whole.
Even dark, she is still doing her work.
She doesn’t rush me to move on.
She doesn’t demand I be brighter, lighter, healed.
She just rises.
Softly. Steadily. Without fail.
She lights the road when I’m lost.
She holds the dark when I’m tired.
She makes room for grief,
for beginning again,
for letting go.
She shines down and blesses the water I set out for her.
And she is the one who gently reminds me:
YOU don’t have to shine all the time to be worthy of showing up for.
When the world gets quiet
and the helpers don’t come —
she still does.
She shows up like she always has.
Faithful. Rhythmic. Unbothered.
Not because I asked her to,
but because that’s just who she is.
The moon is the most consistent friend I’ve ever had.
And most nights,
that is enough.

How to Make & Use Moon Water
A simple ritual for manifesting and intention-setting.
What You’ll Need:
A clean glass jar or bottle (with or without a lid)
Water (spring, filtered, or tap—whatever feels right to you)
A clear view of the moon (or trust that she’s there, even if you can’t see her)
Steps:
Fill the Jar with Intention
Pour your water slowly. As you do, whisper your intention into it—what you’re calling in, releasing, or simply what you want to feel more of.
(Peace. Clarity. Trust. Softness. Resilience.)Set It Out Under the Moonlight
Place the jar outside or on a windowsill overnight under the moon, even better if it is a full moon. Let her light charge the water overnight. You don’t have to see her for it to work—just trust she’s working.Seal the Energy in the Morning
In the morning, bring your moon water in with a simple thank you. You can drink a sip (if the water’s been safely covered), add it to a bath, water your plants with it, or place a drop on your third eye when you meditate.
Why it Works:
Moon water isn’t about superstition—it’s about alignment and intention.
It’s a way to pause and partner with nature, remembering that energy doesn’t always come from doing more. Sometimes it comes from stillness, from rhythm, from reverence.

Where in my life am I being invited to move in rhythm, not resistance?
(What would it feel like to align with cycles instead of pushing through them?)What am I quietly distilling right now?
(What lessons, patterns, or truths are being slowly clarified within me?)How do I currently work with the moon?
(Do I ignore her? Track her? Trust her? What might shift if I leaned in more?)
